Ever heard of the quantum internet?

Europe’s largest quantum network, MadQCI (Madrid Quantum Communication Infrastructure), will pave the way for the next generation of metropolitan quantum networks.

A cornerstone of the EuroQCI initiative, which aims to integrate terrestrial and space segments of quantum communication to achieve a sovereign and secure quantum-internet-of-things for the whole of Europe, MadQCI’s undertakings will contribute to progress on photonic quantum states processing, the development of ultra systems of measurement and distribution of time signals, the development of new quantum algorithms and communication between quantum computers, among others.

In the surroundings of World Quantum Day, you are cordially invited to join our first online talk, “MADQCI: The next generation of metropolitan quantum networks“.

In this talk, Dr. Vicente Martín Ayuso, Principal Investigator of the Quantum Information and Computing Research Group (GIICC) and Director of the Center for Computing Simulation at UPM will take you on a thrilling journey into the heart of MadQCI and its role in shaping the future of quantum communication.

Date: Friday, April 21st

Time: 15:00 (CEST)

We look forward to your participation and the chance for you to engage with fellow academics, quantum communication startups, and experts in the field!

Enabling MadQCI stands the Madrid Quantum-CM (MadQ-CM) project, whose objective is to promote a scientific and industrial ecosystem around quantum communications. MadQ-CM is coordinated by Dr. Vicente Martín, and developed with the participation of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), IMDEA SOFTWARE Foundation (IMDEA SW), IMDEA Networks Foundation (IMDEA NW), National Institute of Aerospace Technique (INTA), Spanish Metrology Center (CEM) and the Vithas Foundation (FV).

This talk is organized by The Center for Computing Simulation (CCS) at UPM and Quantum Literate, a global quantum technologies dissemination initiative by public affairs firm, Mission-Oriented*. Acknowledged by: MadQ-CM, funded under European Union NextGenerationEU ,PRTR-C17.I1, and the Comunidad de Madrid Programa de Acciones Complementarias, the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the project “Quantum Security Networks Partnership” (QSNP, grant agreement Nº 101114043), as well as Euro QCI Spain.
